- Resetting the AT's Clock and Date
-
- While reading DOS 3.0 I noticed that by using the TIME and DATE
- commands it had no effect on the C-MOS real-time clock. The last
- paragraph for the TIME and DATE commands states that "If you are
- using a IBM Personal Computer AT, typing a new time (or date)
- does not change the system clock".
-
- The way IBM suggests you change the time and date is to run
- the SETUP program on the diagnostic diskette in the Guide to
- Operations and then reboot the system.
-
- To avoid having to run the diagnostic diskette everytime you
- want to change the time or date, and then rebooting, I have
- written a assembly language program to allow you to easily change
- the time and date.
-
- The programs consists of a batch file and a .COM file. To
- use it just type:
-
- setclock hh:mm:ss mm-dd-yy
-
- where: hh:mm:ss are the hours, minutes, and seconds.
- mm-dd-yy is the month, day, and year. The date is optional.
-
-
- If you want a copy of this program call me.
